Metal structure, epiphytic plants,
and wooden swings
4.81 x 5.65 x 4.75 m
An old industrial structure is given new meaning through the addition of vegetation and playful elements. Iron, a remnant of the factory world, coexists with plants and swings that invite contemplation and play. The work sums up one of the central ideas of Usina de Arte: reconciling industrial heritage and nature, past and imagination, turning former symbols of production into places of conviviality.

Entrepreneur, collector and founder of Usina de Arte, Ricardo Pessôa de Queiroz has worked since 2015 to transform the former Usina Santa Terezinha into an artistic and botanical park. The project brings together art, education, heritage and environmental regeneration on land once dominated by sugarcane. His works in the collection reveal an interest in the memory of Pernambuco and in the reinvention of historical traces.
