Doors and windows in Portuguese lioz stone and handmade brick flooring
6.12 x 8.18 x 3.32 m
Built from old 19th-century lioz stone doors and windows, the installation recreates, in the open air, the essential structure of a house without walls. The work evokes Pernambuco's historic architecture and the urban memory of Recife, a city that lost a significant part of its heritage over the 20th century. Casa Imaginária offers a new reading of fragments of the past, turning them into a place for gathering.

Entrepreneur, collector and founder of Usina de Arte, Ricardo Pessôa de Queiroz has worked since 2015 to transform the former Usina Santa Terezinha into an artistic and botanical park. The project brings together art, education, heritage and environmental regeneration on land once dominated by sugarcane. His works in the collection reveal an interest in the memory of Pernambuco and in the reinvention of historical traces.
