Corten steel sculpture
1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 m
Inspired by the Latin expression Alea iacta est (The die is cast), attributed to Julius Caesar as he crossed the Rubicon, the sculpture gives monumental scale to a die to reflect on the decisive moment that precedes every choice. Suspended between movement and outcome, the work becomes a symbol of the daring to act in the face of the unknown.

Entrepreneur, collector and founder of Usina de Arte, Ricardo Pessôa de Queiroz has worked since 2015 to transform the former Usina Santa Terezinha into an artistic and botanical park. The project brings together art, education, heritage and environmental regeneration on land once dominated by sugarcane. His works in the collection reveal an interest in the memory of Pernambuco and in the reinvention of historical traces.
