Sculpture and community radio station
At once a sculpture and a radio station, the work occupies a particular territory between art and communication, going beyond its status as an object to become a platform for the voices and stories of the Santa Terezinha community. The work explores the poetic possibilities of radio, shifting it from the strictly informative realm into the world of visual arts and aesthetic experience. Paulo Meira proposes a work that is experienced not only through the eyes but also through attentive listening. By broadcasting programs produced by the community, the station broadens forms of participation and builds a space for collective listening and exchange, in which communication itself becomes artistic material.
