Architectural and landscape installation with masonry and living vegetation

Conceived as a labyrinthine structure gradually overtaken by plants, the work was designed to slowly disappear into the landscape, becoming an almost invisible “non-place.” Inspired by the tradition of hermits, individuals who choose isolation as a form of dissent and freedom, Márcio Almeida creates a space for contemplation, idleness, and individual experience. Each year, the vegetation changes its appearance, making the passage of time an integral part of the work. On land once used to grow sugarcane and produce sugar, the installation proposes a symbolic reversal. Instead of demanding productivity, it offers visitors a place for pause and introspection.
