Glass spheres: variable dimensions
The childhood scene of blowing soap bubbles is the starting point for a reflection on desire and creative power. Scattered on the ground, as if they had just come to rest on the grass, the glass spheres contrast with the solidity of the bronze and set the ephemeral against what endures. By making this moment of play monumental, the artist suggests that dreaming and imagining futures are the true measure of the impossible, something that, though fragile and fleeting, holds the power to remake the reality around us.

Holding a master's degree in Visual Arts from Unesp, Cerqueira works with traditional sculptural techniques such as lost-wax bronze casting, with the human figure as protagonist. His works build narratives about identity and power drawn from everyday situations. By questioning the relationship between space and viewer, the artist freezes the instant as a fragment of an open story. In this interplay between reality and fiction, the public is invited to complete the meaning and become co-author of the narrative.
