H-beams and blown glass
1.73 x 2.6 x 7.8 m
The title Athar means “impact” in Arabic and refers to the forces acting on the elements of the sculpture. In Athar #5, three metal beams form a tripod whose meeting point is interrupted by a delicate blown-glass bubble. The work creates a constant visual tension between weight and fragility, suggesting a seemingly impossible balance. Installed over a reflecting pool, the sculpture gains an additional dimension through its reflection, which doubles its presence and heightens the sense of suspension.

Using materials such as glass, steel, stone and rope, the artist investigates the unstable balance between opposing forces, in situations where weight, tension, gravity and fragility coexist in constant negotiation. His sculptures make physical phenomena visible, offering experiences that are both concrete and poetic.
