three sculptures of Natureza como Mat\u00e9ria grow out of an inquiry that has run through Carlos Vergara's career for decades: the observation of natural processes as agents that give things new meaning. Made of Corten steel, a material whose oxidation continually changes its surface, the works reject the idea of a fixed or finished form. Like living organisms, they are in constant mutation, recording the passage of time in their very substance. The sculptures establish a direct relationship with the botanical park and with the history of the place.
